When I found out I was having triplets I was pretty daunted by the whole diaper thing. For my baby shower we had the forsight to ask our guests to make a diaper donation. They really came through for me. I don't think I had to buy diapers for the first 2 or 3 months after the triplets were born. The diaper donation resulted in wide variety of diapers for me to test out. Now let me start off by saying that the expensive brands of diapers - Pampers, Luvs, Huggies - are all very good diapers. And they smell great too! However, being a frugal person and now a mother to multiples, I was interested in a good diaper at a low cost. And, I'm happy to report that I found a few good ones out there.
My personal favs:
Target brand (Up and Up) diapers and pullups: http://www.target.com/Diapers-Baby/b/ref=sc_iw_r_1_1_2242001011?node=2311207011
Meijer brand diapers and pullups. These are a bit bulkier than the others but they absorb like a nighttime diaper! http://www.meijer.com/s/baby-toddler-diapering-diapers-training-pants/_/N-5i6
Sam's Club brand (Member's Mark) diapers: http://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop/category.jsp?categoryId=2110101
My last selection has just recently joined my favorites list and that's Walmart's "Parent's Choice" diapers. For a few year I did not like these diapers at all. They leaked like crazy. However, recently Walmart redesigned their diapers and I decided to give them a try. They worked great! MUCH better! Here is a link to them: http://www.walmart.com/browse/Diapering-Potty/Diapers-Training-Pants/_/N-6hd7Z1yzmcu2Zaq90Zaqce/Ne-aqwm?ic=48_0&ref=125863.302443+501430.4292461946&tab_value=5758_All&catNavId=486190
None of the above listed diapers are scented as so many people are fond of. The expensive diapers have the scent, so you will have to pay extra for powder scent. Smell just isn't enough of an incentive for me to pay up to an extra $10.00 per pack/case. If I want some scent I can always throw a little powder on the diaper before putting it on the bottom!
